Integrating Ecological Assessments to Target Priority Restoration Areas: A Case Study in the Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration, China

The identification and management of ecological restoration areas play important roles in promoting sustainable urban development. However, current research lacks a scientific basis for the scope scale restoration. Further, absence framework to assess policy goals public preferences that leads across science-policy interface is difficult, existing frameworks’ performance has little applicability. We proposed transdisciplinary combine quality, health, ecosystem services as an assessment endpoint identify priority areas. we classified on township by K-means. Based upon Pearl River Delta agglomeration, chose air biodiversity, soil fragility, recreation vigor, landscape metrics, water supply service elements evaluation system. This study showed accounted 10.8% agglomeration area township, largely difference between natural semi-natural ecosystems human environment. Policymakers can use this comprehensively flexibly classify achieve fulfil preferences.
